Fernando Torres boosts Chelsea football team to their first Premier League victory. Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez had been suffering a personal drought in victories, so this three to one win must be making him smile. According to ESPN , this game will be one to remember for Blues fans.

Fernando Torres started the game strong by scoring a goal for the Blues within the first 11 minutes. Torres had not scored a Premier League goal since October 6 but he quickly followed up on his first shot. A penalty kick awarded for a trip set the game at 2-0.

Fernando Torres might have pulled off a hat trick within 49 minutes but the stalwart Spaniard was denied by the goalpost. Fortunately, Fernando Torres’s teammates were on top of their game, following the bounce to kick the loose ball into the goal.

Their English opponents responded by embarrassing the Spanish teams keeper with a shot that easily should’ve been repelled.

Still, this effort was not enough, for the Premier League game ended at 3 to 0.

Fernando Torres and Chelsea will now turn their attention to Japan and the FIFA Club World Cup. The £50 million Spanish striker been under fire for much of his 23-month spell at Stamford Bridge, since he failed to score even once with the first thee matches.

But Blues owner Roman Abramovich hoped Chelsea manager Benitez, who got the best out of the forward at Liverpool, could breathe new life into his Blues career.

The early signs for Fernando Torres suggest he may do just that.
