Camille Grammer Recovering From Cancer Surgery

Camille Grammer is recuperating from cancer surgery she underwent and expects to make a full recovery.

The 45-year-old actress, known best for her stint on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was diagnosed with early-stage endometrial cancer and underwent a radical hysterectomy on Friday. Grammer’s representative told Us Weekly that Camille “was at elevated risk due to genetic issues.”

“Camille Grammer underwent a radical hysterectomy today to treat early stage endometrial cancer,” Howard Bragman told ABC. “The surgery went very well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period.”

Endometrial cancer affects the lining of the uterus and is among the most common gynecological cancers in developed nations. Thirty-nine percent of cases are attributed to obesity, although that’s clearly not the case for Camille Grammer.

“Mrs. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of the genetic factors relating to women’s cancers and get regular checkups,” the rep said.

Grammer, former wife of actor Kelsey Grammer, is outspoken when it comes to health issues, often tweeting about Celiac’s disease and women’s health in general.

Camille is expected to leave Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She had previously left the show prior to the third season, telling E! she “didn’t want to expose [her] personal life so much anymore.”
