Oasis Frontman Noel Gallagher Denies Rumors Of Reunion

Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher has shot down reunion rumors.

There was a band in the 90s that took what many considered the Beatles formula and tweaked it for a new generation with hit tunes like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Champaign Supernova.” That band was Oasis, headed by a guy who claimed to be the reincarnation of John Lennon — Liam Gallagher — whose antics often landed him in trouble and got on his brother’s nerves. Noel Gallagher is Liam’s brother and fellow vocalist for the Brit Pop band Oasis, for which he was also a guitarist and songwriter and considered the other frontman.

After a fated gig in Los Angeles, Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher had a falling out with his brother and left the band without any notice. It was at that time that he had decided he’s quit the music industry, despite penning the song “Talk Tonight” as a way of thanking a girl for thwarting his suicide. The band reunited to pen two more albums including their biggest album ever, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, before spiraling out of control. After several attempts at other bands, Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher recorded one more album with them, which was addled with a drug-induced apathy that reflected in the music.

Rumors have been flying lately that Oasis would reform in 2014 to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe, but Noel Gallagher has shot those rumors down. He has no intention of getting back together for another tour after the split in 2009.

Regarding the rumors of an reunion, Noel Gallagher has stated, “Maybe people keep thinking if that if they say it, it will eventually happen. It’s not going to happen. Unless they’re doing it without me, but without me it would be rubbish. One can never say never because one might be skint. But I’ve got no intention. I’m not interested.”

Despite his brother Liam’s optimism, Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher adds that he won’t reform the band even if all of the starving children in the world depended on it.
