Mel B Wants To Reunite The Spice Girls

Mel B is hoping for a Spice Girls reunion.

“Scary Spice” Melanie Brown told Ellen DeGeneres that while she wanted to reunite the ’90s girl group, the other members might not feel the same way.

“I’d love to do it. I’m going to make it happen one day. I’m hoping in the next year or two, when everyone’s cleared their diary a little bit. I’m hoping,” the 38-year-old said. “‘They’re going to kill me for this. I’m saying it but I have to go and ask them all. I’m in so much trouble.”

The Spice Girls reunited for a performance at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony last August. The group’s set included their hits “Spice Up Your Life” and “Wannabe.”

However, in March, a representative for “Posh Spice” Victoria Beckham said that the 39-year-old wasn’t interested in getting the group back together.

“Victoria has made no secret of the fact her singing days are over, with a hugely successful business and a growing family,” a rep said. “She loved her time as a Spice Girl and will always wish the other girls well in whatever they choose to do.”

There was also a rumor going around that the other members — Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Chrisholm — wanted to keep performing, and that they were planning a reality show to find a new fifth member.

“The girls, particularly Geri, are think there is so much more that they can achieve, and they know that their fans still want to see them perform. In an ideal world Victoria would be part of their plan, but she just won’t budge,” an insider said.

The source said, “It is a dream of Geri’s to get the girls back together for good tour, a bit like Take That have done it. She would give anything for this to all work out.”

Mel B said of the Olympics performance, “We had so much fun, we rehearsed for two weeks. We had like a crèche for all our kids. It was just nice to be back together. We’ve know each other for 20 years now and we support each other in everything we do, which I think is really important and really nice.”
