Miley Cyrus: ‘Wrecking Ball’ Music Video Is An ‘Emotional Experience’

Miley Cyrus recently declared that filming the music video for her new single “Wrecking Ball” was an extremely “emotional experience.”

The official clip for the singer’s latest tune received more views within 24 hours than any other video released by VEVO. Although people have griped clip’s nudity, Cyrus believes people who are focusing on her lack of clothing are essentially missing the point.

“I think the video is much more [than that]. If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds,” the singer explained during a recent radio interview.

She continued, “The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means.”

“It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience,” the singer explained during her chat.

Although her first single “We Can’t Stop” was quickly embraced by her legion of fans, Miley Cyrus admitted that she was a little anxious about releasing “Wrecking Ball.”

“I was actually panicking last night because I felt like for me, with ‘We Can’t Stop,” there was all this anticipation and all this time to build up this one single. I have been so busy right now with ‘We Can’t Stop’ still doing what it’s doing…so I feel like I have so much going on,” she said.

As of this writing, “Wrecking Ball” has approximately 98 million views. Once the song hits a whopping 150 million views, Cyrus said she intends to release a director’s cut of the clip.

“I know y’all love a challenge,” Cyrus recently tweeted.
