‘Fast And Furious 7’ Begins Production, ‘Fast 8’ In The Works

If you thought that Fast And Furious 7 was the end of the franchise, you are a happy camper today. The Twitter handle for the new installment has announced that Fast 8 is in the works, but no release date was given.

Some other interesting casting news has been shared by @FF7Movie.

Earlier today they said that Kurt Russell may be joining the franchise, which Vin Diesel had already confirmed. However, he may not appear in Fast 7 but in Fast 8.

It’s still unclear, when or in what capacity Russell will join the franchise. The tweet read,

“Kurt Russel was almost about to join #Fast7. He would play the father of Jesse, and he would be Toretto’s villain.”

Further explanation indicated that he would work together with Jason Statham, who plays the late Owen Shaw’s (Luke Evans) brother, Ian.

In the new film, Stratham comes to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of Toretto and threatens his family.

Fast And Furious 6 had the gang fighting the most sophisticated villain they had ever come across. Owen Shaw was an ex-military guy who was wrecking havoc all over the world. Up until the end, it was unclear whether they would succeed.

The sixth installment also saw the return of Dom’s flame, Letty played by actress Michelle Rodriguez, whom everyone thought was dead.

Several fresh set photos from Fast 7 were shared in various tweets:

Fast 7 also says that Universal is looking for a baddie since Luke Evans is not going to feature in the film:

There is excitement in the air as Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, and possibly Kurt Russell get together once again in Fast And Furious 7 and later Fast 8.

Fast And Furious 7 is set to be released on July 11, 2014.
