Child of Light and Valiant Hearts: The Great War are among the new RPG and war games that Ubisoft has plans for.
Just when you thought Ubisoft had done everything they could think of in every genre available, they turn around and prove they have even more tricks up their sleeve. Alongside the announcements last night that Ubisoft is releasing new and updated Assassin’s Creed titles, as well as previously digital-only Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon possibly coming to physical discs, and updates on the Watch Dogs mobile app, all previously reported by The Inquisitr, Ubisoft is unleashing some new games in the RPG and war game areas.
First off, Ubisoft is announcing the Tom Clancy’s EndWar series spinoff, a free-to-play MOBA-type game called EndWar Online. It will be a browser-hosted Flash game that focuses on one-on-one skirmishes. It will be mostly vehicle-based and a take on the classic Rock Paper Scissors scenario where different vehicles are made to counter others on the battlefield.
Child of Light will be Ubisoft’s whimsical take on the JRPG, which uses cell shaded animation that pops visually. A young princess, Aurora, is taken to the oddly crow inhabited kingdom of Lemuria. She and her blue orb companion must figure out why something’s strange in the neighborhood in this title coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Wii U.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War takes the same art direction as Child of Light and the recent Rayman titles to tell the story of five German World War I survivors and their dog. They must make it through the war with the help of a medical supply dog, possibly making it the most realistic war game in concept. It’s actually a platformer with some light stealth and puzzle elements, which might bring back memories of the classic The Lost Vikings.
Ubisoft has certainly filled up their release schedule with Valiant Hearts: The Great War, Child of Light, and EndWar Online.
