Lance Bass Talks Engagement To Michael Turchin

Lance Bass got engaged to his boyfriend, Michael Turchin, over the weekend. The couple announced the happy news via and Instagram photo with the caption,”He said YES!! Love this man @michaelturchinart.”

Bass proposed in New Orleans just one week after he performed on stage at the MTV VMAs with the rest of his former ‘N Sync band members.

The entertainer spoke about the huge life event on his SiriusXM radio show, Dirty Pop With Lance Bass. USA Today reports that he revealed the proposal happened “right in front of Jackson Square.”

Lance Bass added that he was nervous, but he got down on one knee and proposed to Turchin anyway. But the couple has no plans on getting married right away.

Instead, Bass said they aren’t in a rush to go down the aisle this year. Instead, MSN Music notes that the couple will likely tie the knot next year. He added, “We are just going to enjoy this moment.”

And they both appear to be elated with the new step in their relationship. Turchin admitted the proposal was a complete surprise, but it topped off an “amazing” week for his fiance. The pair were seen at the VMAs together, then they visited both of their families in Mississippi. It was then he knew it was the perfect time to propose.

While finding the location was easy, as Jackson Square is Bass’ favorite place, Lance Bass admitted that shopping for a ring was hard. After going to “so many jewelry stores,” the former ‘N Sync member wound up at Saks. It was there he found the perfect ring, explaining, “[I] found this amazing David Yuman ring. I looked at it [and knew immediately] ‘That’s the one!’ ”

Michael Turchin wasted no time in showing off the band on his fiance’s Instagram account. While the couple is enjoying their new status, Bass also commented that he can’t wait to start a family with Turchin. He dished, “He is going to be a great husband and the best thing is… he is going to be such a great dad.”

For now, though, Lance Bass and Michael Turchin are simply enjoying being engaged.
