Suri Cruise Breaks Her Arm In New York City

Suri Cruise had a little mishap while she was hanging out with her mother, one that ended up with a broken arm for the 7-year-old.

During the summer Suri has been living with mom Katie Holmes in New York City, though she did make a trip to the UK to visit her dad Tom Cruise at the beginning of the month. Lately Suri has been seen with mom, who just finished shooting on the movie Miss Meadows in Cleveland, but it’s not known exactly where the injury took place.

A statement from one of Katie’s representatives didn’t shed much light on the accident.

“Suri did break her arm, but she is okay,” the spokesperson said.

Suri Cruise, who is starting second grade in a matter of days, is a bit busier than the normal 7-year-old. Aside from jetting back and forth between movie star parents, she’s also started her own fashion line. The line includes dresses, tops, jeans, shoes, and accessories.

Sources say that Jeanne Yang, a stylist enlisted by Katie Holmes, takes doodles drawn by Suri and turns them into actual pieces of clothing.

“Suri is only seven but she is incredibly interested in clothes,” a source said. “She has been through a very difficult year and adapted amazingly to her new life in New York, including the upheaval of starting normal school.”

The source continued: “This is a nice hobby for her, it’s certainly not going to take over her life.”

Meanwhile, both Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have worked hard to make sure Suri stays away from any drama related to their high-profile divorce. Katie has even fought to make sure Tom has gets quality time with his daughter.

“Katie wants to make sure the visits are in the context of him being a parent figure,” a source told Us Weekly. “He adores Suri, but now he’s afraid he won’t be able to have a close relationship with her.”

Now that Suri Cruise is nursing a broken arm, she can definitely use the help of two supportive parents.
