Alan Jackson’s Daughter Hits Cop, Is Charged

Country singer Alan Jackson is in the news, but his daughter is the one really making headlines.

Alan Jackson is dad to Alexandra “Ali” Jackson, 20. The younger Jackson was driving her Range Rover near Music Row in Nashville when the young woman was allegedly spied speeding and tailgating.

But when Ali was pulled over for her aggressive driving, cops say, things got a bit hairy. The young woman, seen tearful and red-faced in a mug shot, is said to have behaved quite badly during the routine traffic stop.

Alan Jackson’s daughter has since been charged with counts related to underage drinking and hitting a police officer, and USAToday explains what a police report indicates occurred after she was stopped for alleged driving infractions:

“While an officer was questioning the driver, the warrant says Ali Jackson got out of the car and made angry demands. Eventually, she hit the officer in the chest. Police noted that the woman had consumed a large amount of alcohol… She told police she had three alcoholic drinks, the warrant says.”

In addition to allegedly resisting arrest, Ali Jackson spoke of her famous dad, cops say, and is quoted as stating Alan Jackson “would do anything I wanted him to do.”

The news comes as Jackson releases a new bluegrass joint, and the singer recently said Nashville can be a tougher crowd than big stadiums. Alan mused:

“I’d rather play a 10,000-seat arena than play [a club] here in Nashville… Nashville you get a lot of music people, artists and other industry people — it’s not like [playing for] your regular fans, so it always makes you feel a little bit more pressure.”

Alan Jackson’s daughter Ali is due back in court September 23.
