Emily Maynard Focused On Being A Single Mom, Not Trying To Date

Emily Maynard says she only needs one person in her life right now — her 8-year-old daughter.

After two failed engagements on ABC reality shows, the 27-year-old say she’s taking a break in her search for a man so she can focus on being a mom.

Ricki, her daughter, goes to sleep at 8 or 8:30 every night, so Emily said the prospect of getting dressed or going on a date is daunting.

“Right now, I am under no pressure to find a guy,” Maynard told the The Huffington Post. “I’m figuring it out on my own. But I will say this: When I do find him, this man will be the best, because he’ll be someone who adds something pretty spectacular to our lives.”

Emily was 18 years old when she got pregnant with her daughter. Her first love, NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, died in a plane crash in 2004.

Since then Emily embarked on a very public quest to find a man. She appeared on The Bachelor, getting engaged to Brad Womack in 2011. That relationship ended, however, and she tried again as the star of The Bachelorette.

Emily Maynard picked Jef Holm, but they too broke up last year.

“I’m figuring it out on my own,” Maynard said. “But I will say this: When I do find him, this man will be the best, because he’ll be someone who adds something pretty spectacular to our lives.”

Emily Maynard has more than just her daughter to keep her busy. Aside from her extensive charity work, she also launched a jewelry line, Emily Maynard for Towne & Reese.

“I love jewelry,” she told People. “One of the fun parts of it is there’s no right or wrong way to wear it. As long as it makes you feel good, who cares what other people think?”

It seems that Emily Maynard doesn’t care much about wearing an engagement ring, either.
