Kelly Clarkson Denies Pregnancy Rumors

Kelly Clarkson is denying rumors that she canceled her wedding because she is pregnant.

Clarkson and fiance Brandon Blackstock were going to get married in October, but got so “overwhelmed” that they decided to elope instead.

“We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, ‘So, we change our minds and we want to elope,'” Clarkson said “We just got so overwhelmed by it – all the decisions.”

Clarkson also said that the details of their wedding started leaking after they sent out their save-the-dates. She said they broke the news to friends and family when they sent out their engagement photos.

“[We] said, ‘Thank you so much for understanding, but it’s just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister,” she said.

Shortly after Clarkson announced that she and Blackstock were eloping, rumors started spreading that the couple ditched their wedding because she is pregnant. Clarkson responded on Twitter, writing, “FYI….Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony.”

Clarkson explained the decision to People magazine Thursday.

“Our whole life is a celebration. That’s what we kept laughing about. We don’t need another day where we throw a big party,” she said. “Our lives are so in the spotlight all the time. Everything is such a spectacle, we were like, ‘We would rather have an intimate moment that’s special.'”

Kelly Clarkson also said that a friend is throwing her and Blackstock a “stock the bar” party to celebrate the construction on their house being wrapped up. All the people who were invited to the wedding will be there.
