Lisa Robin Kelly: Authorities ‘Suspicious,’ Manager Denies Allegations Of Foul Play

Actress Lisa Robin Kelly died in a rehab facility last week, and though the exact cause of death is not yet known, authorities are suspicious of the circumstances surrounding her passing.

TMZ reports that the accounts of her death don’t exactly add up, and that the L.A. County Coroner and the L.A. County Sheriff have opened separate investigations into the matter.

Law enforcement sources told the gossip site that the Coroner never got a call from the rehab facility where the actress died, even though a doctor there pronounced her dead at 8:07AM Thursday. The Coroner apparently didn’t find out until noon when he saw the story online.

But what has made authorities really suspicious is that the rehab doctor told the Coroner that Lisa Robin Kelly died from an embolism. The Coroner didn’t accept this explanation, since you can’t know that sort of thing without performing an autopsy.

Kelly was also taking detox drugs, but toxicology results won’t be in for several weeks, so we don’t yet know if drugs played a role in her death.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff has issued a security hold on the case, meaning no information about Kelly’s death will be released while it’s being investigated.

Her manager, Craig Wyckoff, has since denied that authorities suspect foul play in Kelly’s death. He said that under a certain age, an investigation is simply required by state law.

“It’s not routine, but in the state of California, if a woman is found dead under a certain age, then they have to do an investigation,” he told Fox411. “She did die Wednesday night, but everyone was notified immediately,” he said.

Lisa Robin Kelly, best know for her role as Laurie Forman on That ’70s Show, passed away last week at the age of 43. She had entered a rehab facility in California after several run-ins with the law and a contentious separation from her husband. She had been planning a career comeback since 2012.
