Kanye West Avoids Felony Charges After Paparazzo Scuffle

Kanye West will not face felony charges for allegedly attacking a photographer earlier this year at Los Angeles International Airport.

West and a paparazzi photographer got into a scuffle at LAX on July 19. Photos showed West trying to wrestle the camera away from the photographer and some expected West to face felony charges over the incident.

Prosecutors said that it was unclear if the camera equipment suffered any significant damage and that the photographer was not injured in the incident. Kanye also didn’t use a weapon and doesn’t have a felony record.

Billboard reports that the singer has avoided felony charges but he could still see some legal consequences for his actions.

The case will go to the The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office where West will face misdemeanor charges.

This isn’t Kanye’s first run in with the paparazzi and it won’t be his last. The singer has been very protective of his new baby North West and has been trying to keep her out of the public eye. Still, photographers are hounding West and Kim Kardashian in the hopes of snapping some photos of the baby.

Entertainmentwise reports that a photographer managed to sneak past security earlier this week during a hospital visit. Kanye is reportedly furious with his security guards for letting the photographer in the building.
