Kate Upton Felt Like A ‘Bachelor Present’ After First Sports Illustrated Gig

Kate Upton may have become a household name thanks to her work in Sports Illustrated, but the model definitely didn’t feel great about herself following the shoot.

Although she isn’t afraid to shed the majority of her clothes for the camera, the 21-year-old is a bit more reserved than you might imagine. In addition to opening up about religion to the folks at Elle, Upton revealed that she essentially felt like someone’s plaything after her first gig with the magazine.

“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something,” Kate Upton explained.

The Other Woman star said that people in the industry tend to treat models as though they were children. She added that this often means people believe she’s completely stupid. However, Upton said she uses this to her advantage.

“I’m always like, I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know!” the swimsuit model explained.

Kate Upton also addressed reports that she’s dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Although many outlets believe that she’s cooking up a romance with the guy, the model stopped short of revealing anything concrete about their relationship.

“I really have never had a serious relationship in the industry. I’m just having fun. Obviously I have a very busy schedule at this time in my life, and I don’t put relationships as a priority,” she explained.
