Childress gets a 35k fine from the NFL

Brad Childress is having a very bad week. His team got embarrassed by a division rival on Sunday Night Football, the deal with the devil he cut for QB Brett Favre is looking less and less smart every day, and he took an opportunity to call out his Hall of Fame QB, the league, and it’s officials. He also let it slip that the NFL told him that Referee Scott Green got a call wrong that may have led to his team loss that puts them at 2-4, and Favre may be injured and he may have to sit him next week. It also cost him 35k in league fines.

Not a great position to be in, but to be frank Childress has created this situation along with his ownership. Form the very day he went to the airport to pick up Brett Favre in his own car the fuse was lit on a situation hat could blow this team right out of the water. Childress and the ownership have deferred to Brett and his antics so much that he is no in effect running the team. If Chilly decided to sit Favre next week at New England Brett may decide to make a coaching change, or simply retire leaving this team out in the cold.

While we can criticize Chilly’s role in the Favre mess, a larger part of the loss to Green Bay is his fault. When you have the gunslinger Brett Favre, and Randy Moss on the field with over a minute at the end of the half you run a deep route and see if Randy can make a play and get a very cheap seven points. Chilly decided to give up and head into the locker room, and that more than any other reason is why he really needs to be fired.
