Man Attempts To Smuggle Turtle Onto Plane In KFC Hamburger

A man was caught attempting to smuggle his pet turtle onto a plane inside a Kentucky Fried Chicken hamburger in China,

The incident occurred at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China on the morning of July 29, and the man, whose last name is Li, was about to jump on board China Southern Airlines flight 345 to Beijing.

He was stopped at an x-ray machine at the airport, as those working behind the device spotted an “odd protrusion” which was sticking out of the burger inside his bag.

After inspecting the bag a little closer, security noted that it looked like a turtle so they decided to fully inspect Li’s bag.

As they looked to rummage through Li’s bags, he reportedly told them, “There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger. There’s nothing special to see inside.”

After being badgered by numerous members of airport staff, Li then finally allowed them to inspect his bag, and they then immediately located the pet turtle that was hidden inside the burger.

Li was then then asked why he had attempted such a bizarre stunt, but he only responded by remarking that he simply wanted to travel alongside his “beloved” pet turtle.

Staff at the airport then explained to him that turtles aren’t allowed to be smuggled on board aircrafts, and even though it took a while for Li to ingest this information, he finally agreed and then called a friend to take care of his pet whilst he is away on a his trip.

Various internet users have since commented on the situation, and rather than lambasting Li for his antics, they have stated that his love for his turtle is actually adorable. One user was more concerned for the turtle’s health though, writing, “That poor turtle! It had to absorb all those X-rays!”
