‘MasterChef’ Finalist Josh Marks Arrested For Assault

MasterChef finalist Josh Marks was arrested early Monday by the University of Chicago Police Department after he allegedly attacked and attempted to disarm an officer.

According to TMZ, a UCPD officer saw Marks, who had cuts on his face, trying to use an emergency phone near the school’s campus. The officer asked if anything was wrong, and Marks lunged at him and tried to grab his gun. Two other officers tried to help subdue the 7’2? season 3 runner-up. Marks was also pepper sprayed and hit with a baton but managed to break free. He was finally apprehended by five officers in a resident’s backyard.

Marks was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries and then went on a rant about how Gordon Ramsay possessed his body and turned him into a God. He also called the British chef an “a**hole.”

Authorities found no evidence of drug use, but doctors did remove bullet fragments from Marks’ face.

The 26-year-old was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery on a peace officer and attempting to disarm a peace office. If convicted, Marks faces a maximum of 14 years in prison. He is currently chained to a gurney in a Chicago-area hospital.

Josh Marks isn’t the only MasterChef contestant to land in hot water recently. Krissi Biasiello, a contestant on the current fourth season, reportedly sent at least two racially offensive tweets on her now-deleted personal Twitter account last year. In one tweet, Biasiello called the NBA “N*****s Bouncing Around,” and in another said, “Better make sure you’re on top when sleeping with a black guy…. Otherwise it’s probably rape.”

Biasiello apologized for the tweets on her MasterChef Twitter account shortly after the tweets emerged.
