Bethenny Frankel is allegedly causing so much drama on the set of her daytime talk show that she’s already lost her executive assistant.
Word on the street suggests that the former reality TV star isn’t exactly the easiest person to please. As a result, there’s been a bit of friction behind-the-scenes. Although the Ellen DeGeneres-produced program hasn’t hit the airwaves, that isn’t stopping the trouble from brewing.
Sources close to the production of Bethenny Frankel’s new show told the New York Post that her assistant decided to bail on the Skinnygirl founder because she was just too unfriendly.
“Marilyn quit after less than a month because Bethenny was so mean to her. Marilyn has a lot of experience working with celebrities and complained she had ‘never been treated this badly,” the anonymous source told the website.
The insider added, “They have been interviewing other assistants, who had to sign nondisclosure agreements and were told not to talk to Bethenny unless she talks to them first. They have interviewed more than 40 people, but she doesn’t like anybody.”
Although the assistant decided to quit, another source told Radar Online that Bethenny Frankel is getting along just fine with the rest of her staff. According to this nameless individual, working for the former Real Housewives of New York star requires a certain set of skills.
“[Being her assistant] is a very particular job with a lot involved, managing Bethenny’s TV and business interests. But there is absolutely no division between Bethenny and the staff on the show. For many of them it is a dream job,” the insider dished.
Ellen DeGeneres and her production company, along with Telepictures, are developing Frankel’s talk show. The program is currently slated to premiere this September on several Fox affiliates.
