John Travolta Appears In Brazilian Rum Commercial With Beach Babes [Video]

John Travolta hasn’t really been in the news lately, so it was inevitable that he would turn up doing something rather John Travolta-ish. This week Travolta is featured in a Brazilian rum commercial doing some awkward dance moves on a beach with topless men.

Before you think this is a Saturday Night Live skit in the making, think again. Travolta dancing on a beach for a rum commercial actually happened, and we have no idea why, but it’s glorious.

Travolta plays himself in the Ypióca ad, but his moves look nothing like anything he had back in the day when he was stealing hearts in hits like Grease, and Saturday Night Fever.

The ad starts with Travolta showing off somewhat of a strut as he walks along as the Brazilian locals shout his name. Those who watch the commercial should take note of his odd style of loose-fitted linen trousers, and a out of place panama hat. Somehow we think and hope that John doesn’t dress like this regularly.

Soon after the real fun begins as Travola is seen kicking a soccer ball on a beach, and even breaking out into horribly awkward dance moves with the 20-something year old men on the beach.

Then the locals of Brazil and John Travolta drink some rum at a restaurant as they flex their awkward arm dance moves, that resemble something of the wave.

At least John Travolta looks happy these days, which is a refreshing change given his luck over the last few years. When he isn’t struting on the beaches for Brazilian rum, he’s still acting in films. Coming up he has Killing Season opposite Robert DeNiro, and after that he has the Gotti film which has been in pre-production for eternity.
