Terrence Howard Joins M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines’
Terrence Howard has signed on for director M. Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines.
The Oscar-nominated actor has been tapped to portray Sheriff Pope in the event series. His character will butt heads with a Secret Service agent who is searching for two missing agents.
Howard isn’t the only familiar face who recently joined the After Earth director’s small-screen endeavor. The Iron Man alum will star alongside Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, and Toby Jones. The series is based on author Blake Crouch’s novel Pines.
Since this is an M. Night Shyamalan production, viewers should anticipate plenty of mind-bending situations to occur over the course of the series.
The show follows the adventures of Ethan Burke (Dillion), the Secret Service agent who suspects that a pair of agents have gone missing in the strange little town of Wayward Pines. His investigation soon begins to have an adverse affect on his life.
M. Night Shyamalan will direct the first episode of the FOX series. The filmmaker will serve as an executive producer going forward. The Playboy Club creator Chad Hodge handled scripting duties on the adaptation.
Terrence Howard has plenty of projects currently waiting in the wings. Not only is he attached to star in Wayward Pines, the acclaimed actor will also join a ton of actors and actresses for director Lee Daniels’ drama The Butler.
The actor will also appear in writer-director Andrew Levitas’ Lullaby, Jennifer Elster’s The Being Experience, and Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal.
