Amanda Bynes has apologized for offending quite a few people with her recent “cancer patient” tweet. According to the retired actress, the whole fiasco was caused by a simple grammar mistake.

The aspiring rapper sparked another round of controversy on Tuesday (July 16) after a tweet about her hair ruffled some serious feathers.

“Not having hair makes me feel like a cancer patient,” she tweeted.

According to the folks at Vibe , quite a few people were understandably upset by the comparison. Realizing that she had made a huge mistake, Amanda Bynes removed the offending tweet and issued an apology for the error.

In order to clear the air and calm the proverbial waters, Bynes reached out to Vanity Fair . The former What I Like About You star apologized to anyone she offended with the comment.

“I’m not a wretched person with zero sense of perspective or respect for fellow human beings; rather, the actual explanation of my statement is something far more banal. No, Arendtites, not ‘banal’ as in ‘the banality of evil’ — banal as in, this was a very stupid grammatical error,” she explained.

Bynes continued, “What I intended to say was ‘not having hair makes me feel like a cancer: patient.’ That is, waiting for my hair to grow has made me a more patient person — a trait, in the astrological community, typically associated with those born under the Cancer sign. I’m actually an Aries.”

Unfortunately for the Sydney White star, her apology also ended up offending a few people. Amanda Bynes said that not having the forgiveness of her fans and followers made her feel as though she should have AIDS. Another apology was issued to correct the damage done by her previous statement.

“Christ, I’ve done it again. I meant: not having your forgiveness makes me feel like I should have aides, lower-case and with an ‘e.’ Aides because I’m clearly in something of a public-relations quagmire. Please accept my second apology,” she wrote.

What do you think about Amanda Bynes apologizing for her offensive “cancer patient” tweet? Do you think she really made a grammatical mistake during her original post?
