Justin Bieber’s Voice On New Selena Gomez Song? And Why That Isn’t The Most Important Question

Hot on the heels of the Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez are they/aren’t they Instagram debate comes yet another.

Gomez has unwrapped a new mid-tempo song from her 14-days time dropping album Stars Dance. It’s called “Love Will Remember” and features a male voicemail intro that’s unleashed speculation by fans that the voice is Bieber’s.

The disembodied, nasal voicemail declares:

“Hey babe, it’s me. Um, I just want to call and tell you that I love you so, so, so much. I just wanted to let you know that you are my princess. You are worthy of all the love in the world. You are the love of my life.”

But, apart from the fact that whoever this guy is he sounds nothing like Bieber and if it did the 19-year-old should never ever do voice-over work, the marketing mechanics of this on-again off-again pair are starting to smell a bit whiffy.

On July 5, the day after the exes spent part of their July 4 celebrations together, Bieber posted an Instagram of the pair from an undisclosed location with the caption “Heartbreaker.”

As most know, this is the name of the Canadian’s upcoming new single, of which much is expected — and hoped for.

Since the Instagram’s debut, some have speculated that it’s a canny sales move by Bieber and Gomez who both have albums to shift and a number of side endorsements.

The question takes on greater significance following E! News’ report that a source confirms the two have not rekindled their romance, although it should be noted that reps for both stars declined to comment on the story.

“They are trying to maintain a friendship,” the insider reportedly said.

If that’s the case it’s even more bizarre why the pair would pose for an Instagram they both know will ignite reunion talk. Speaking to InStyle magazine in May, Gomez said of “Love Will Remember:”

“That’s the most personal track on the record, for sure….” then, referencing Bieber, added,”I’m sure he’ll love it too.”

The above quote is undoubtedly part of the reason why Jelena fans want Bieber to be the voice on Gomez’s record. But the timing of this story so soon after the “Heartbreaker” Instagram and recent unconfirmed rumors that Bieber’s new album is full of songs about Gomez, means the conversation about these two is now almost 100 percent fluff.

That’s not nearly so worrying for the Spring Breakers actress — who previously said Stars Dance will be her final album before she focuses exclusively on acting — as it is for Bieber. Currently front and center in multiple police investigations, allegations and lawsuits, the often shirtless one has a lot riding on his new album being taken seriously.

So, here’s the question: Is the constant speculation about the romantic status of these two doing more harm than good to their careers credibility-wise, or is all publicity good publicity?

Meanwhile, Bieber continues on the North American leg of his Believe world tour until August, then kicks off Asian dates in September ahead of concerts in Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand wrapping on December 8.

Gomez begins her Stars Dance Tour on August 14 in Vancouver ending November 27 in St. Louis.
