A lot of people would say that it’s not really a night out until you tackle a cop while drunk and naked.
Apparently, those people aren’t in charge of the Oregon State football team, who have cut 19-year-old offensive lineman Tyler Patrick Thomas for just that. Cops in Corvallis, Oregon responded to a call and found Thomas, who is originally from Montana, naked and intoxicated at the home of an unidentified 32-year-old woman. When law enforcement officials arrived, Thomas was reportedly not prepared to go quietly:
According to (The Gazette Times), Thomas apparently dropped into a three-point stance when police ordered him to the floor, then was tasered after charging towards the officers.
Coach Mike Riley confirmed that Thomas’ departure from the team was due to his arrest:
“We have dismissed Tyler Thomas from our team. He had an off-the-field incident over the weekend that cost him a spot on the roster.”
The former Oregon State player was tased and then arrested at the scene. He has been charged with resisting arrest, first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief. Thomas is due to appear September 9th in Benton County Circuit Court.
