Verizon Memo Reveals Prepaid Blackberry Service, Possible August 22nd Launch

A leaked employee memo to Verizon employees points to a new prepaid mobile phone service that targets Blackberry Smartphones.

According to the memo, Verizon Wireless will begin offering prepaid voice and data services for the popular business devices, options which could go live as early as Sunday August 22nd according to BGR.

Users looking to take advantage of prepaid services will however still need to pay the $30 mandatory Blackberry connect fee each month.

Unfortunately it’s still unclear at this time which devices will or will not be supported by the new prepaid program.

Other countries offer prepaid Blackberry service, however Verizon will be the first to do so in the United States.
