Rachel McAdams And Noomi Rapace Involved In Sex And Murder For ‘Passion’ Trailer [Video]

In May upon the release of Rachel McAdams’ About Time trailer, we complained that it’s been awhile since the actress spread her wings. Back then we could only hope that her Brian Depalma film Passion would deliver a new side of the actress. Now that we have the trailer, it doesn’t look like it’s going to disappoint in the least.

Making its debut at McAdams’ home for the Toronto Film Festival, Passion is a sexy thriller. It stars McAdams and Noomi Rapace as the film follows their flirty relationship between boss and employee. McAdams plays against type as we see her character anchor the friendship for power and control. It has a special moody dichotomy that we haven’t seen from McAdams.

Rapace plays a protege, Isabelle, and McAdams plays the puppetmaster as she lures her into a game of both power and seduction. Also, she likes blindfolds which we’re sure will go a long way in this movie.

The trailer doesn’t disappoint as it paints the power struggle relationship as part provocative, part sadistic tale about two women both hungry for power. Of course there’s a few make out session between McAdams and Rapace to get a few rises as well.

What looks to be the most refreshing part of the film is how unhinged McAdams is, taking the role of the manipulator rather than the innocent, the latter of which she’s played up time and time again. It’s a nice turn for McAdams who hasn’t really cut her acting chops on anything to write home about.

The synopsis for Passion is as follows:
“The rivalry between the manipulative boss of an advertising agency and her talented protégée escalates from stealing credit to public humiliation to murder.”

During the Toronto Film Festival, McAdams said of her work with co-star Noomi Rapace:

“We were excited to get in there and see what we could both do together. Noomi is the kind of person you just feel comfortable with right away. She’s so committed to the work and focused. It was so easy getting there. It was great.”

Are you excited to see Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace in something different?
