Aaron Hernandez Murder Case: Police Seek Third Suspect
The Aaron Hernandez murder investigation continues after the arrest of the NFL player, with police in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, now seeking a third suspect in the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
The police announced Thursday they are seeking 41-year-old Ernest Wallace, who is being called an accessory after the fact. Police have already arrested Hernandez and 27-year-old Carlos Ortiz, who is being held on a $1.5 million bond at the Hartford Correctional Center in Connecticut.
Court records show that a man with Wallace’s name has been in trouble with the law before, sporting four convictions since 2008. Two of his convictions were in Bristol, Connectict, the hometown of Aaron Hernandez.
On Wednesday investigators laid out their strong case against Aaron Hernandez, which includes surveillance footage of the former New England Patriots player in his home with a gun shortly before the killing. Other footage shows Hernandez driving Lloyd to the remote industrial park where Lloyd’s body was later found.
Evidence showed that Lloyd was shot five times, after it appeared he tried to run away and then shielded himself from being shot.
Hernandez pleaded not guilty to murder and firearms charges. Within two hours of his arrest on Wednesday the New England Patriots announced that he had been cut.
Another development on Thursday may shed light on the motive for Odin Lloyd’s murder, and could mean more trouble for Aaron Hernandez. He is reportedly being investigated in a double homicide that took place in Boston in 2012, one that police think led to Odin’s death last week.
“The motive might have been that the victim knew [Hernandez] might have been involved,” an official said.

Police did not say how the third suspect in the Aaron Hernandez investigation may have been connected to the murder of Odin Lloyd.
