LeBron James Shoe Shooting Surveillance Video Released

Atlanta, GA– An armed man was shot and killed early Saturday morning by another man after he allegedly tried to rob customers waiting to purchase the new $180 LeBron James X Denim sneakers.

The incident in the Little Five Points section of Atlanta was caught on surveillance video. See embed below. The gun-toting patron had his fellow shoe shoppers hold his place in line, produced his own handgun, and then shot the would-be robber after which the the armed citizen got back in line for LeBron’s new Nike sneaker.

The shooting occurred outside of Wish clothing and shoe store at about 5:30 in the morning according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A line had already formed outside of the store — and some LeBron shoe fans even camped out all night — despite the fact that the store wouldn’t be opened, and the shoe wouldn’t be available for sale, until 11:30.

The incident is under investigation but as of now, Atlanta police consider the shooting an act of self defense, and have no current plans to bring any charges. There were reports of pickpockets in the area around the store queue. The store sold all the new LeBron James sneakers in stock within two hours and not everyone on the scene was able to buy the sneaker endorsed by the Miami Heat star. Another customer described the special qualities that apparently made the shoe desirable: “It’s the leather and the denim. It’s basically a pair of pants on your foot.”

One bystander, who was standing line when the shooting occurred, said “He [the shooter] really stood up for all of us.”I salute the homie that did that.”

Neither man involved in the sneaker-related shooting incident have yet to be identified.

Would you pay $180 for a pair of sneakers that you had to get up in the middle of night to purchase?
