Kevin Durant is the latest member of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
Durant said: “(I’m) grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports. It’s go time.”
The singer’s sports agency has signed a number of high profile clients recently. Durant’s signing comes just a few days after Jay-Z was officially approved as a representative by the NBA Players’ Association last week.
Durant, who will be leaving agent Rob Pelinka to sign with Roc Nation, has a pretty impressive stat sheet. He won a gold medal with the US Men’s Olympic Basketball team and is one of the youngest players in NBA history to shoot better than 50% from the floor, 40% from behind the 3-point arc, and 90% from the free throw line during a season.
Jay-Z said: ”He has a 90.5 free throw shooting rate, the youngest player in NBA history to join the 50-40-90 club, a giving individual and a legend in the making. What more can I say?”
ESPN reports that Durant is in the middle of an $85 million contract with the Thunder that will last through the 2015-16 season. He also has endorsement deals with Nike, Sprint, Gatorade and several other companies.
