Jonathan Toews: I’m 100% Ready For Game 6

Chicago Blackhawks player Jonathan Toews missed the final period of Game 5 after he suffered a big hit in front of the Boston Bruins net but the team captain said that he’s 100% ready to fight for the Stanley Cup tonight.

Toews participated in the morning skate today and said that he was ready for game 6.

Toews said: “I guess the way I’ve felt out there I would say it was the best morning skate I had all series… I felt great. I’m excited. There’s no question where I am physically.”

Toews didn’t get into the details of the injury but he did say that it was the trainer’s decision to pull him from game 5.

Toews said: “It was a couple hits that I took… I guess the coaches didn’t think I was ready to play in the third period. Obviously you always want to bounce back. It’s a physical game.”

Coach Joel Quennville was also confident about Toews returning to the lineup.

Quennville said: “It’s good to know he was able to play and practice this morning as well… He felt fine yesterday, so we were encouraged heading into today’s day. It’s good to know that he’s ready to go.”

The Chicago Tribune notes that Marian Hossa, who missed game 3 due to an injury, did not participate in the morning skate this morning but the Blackhawks expect him to play.

On the other side of the ice the Boston Bruins could be playing without center Patrice Bergeron. Coach Claude Julien said that Bergeron would dress for the pregame practice and that he was confident that the center would be on the ice for game 6.

Do you think the Chicago Blackhawks will win the Stanley Cup tonight? Will the Boston Bruins force a game 7?
