Jennifer Lawrence’s Missing Movie Set For Release This July

A movie Jennifer Lawerence wrapped seven years ago is finally getting released.

Before the actress shot to critical acclaim with the 2010 drama Winter’s Bone, she had a small role in writer Alex Michaelides and director James Oakley’s The Devil You Know.

Although the Internet Movie Database page for the flick lists it as a 2013 feature, the movie was actually wrapped in 2007. However, the feature has been gathering dust on a shelf somewhere due to a lack of interest from North American distributors.

Since Jennifer Lawrence is now an award-winning actress and a household name, it would appear distributors have had a change of heart. Seven years after the movie was completed, The Devil You Know is on its way to home video this July.

Unfortunately for Lawerence completists, a physical copy of the flick won’t be available when it finally hits retail. However, fans can purchase digital versions of the drama through such outlets as Amazon and iTunes.

According to, the actress only has a small role in the feature. However, those who feel compelled to watch every single movie she’s ever done will no doubt spring for a copy of the flick as soon as it becomes available.

The Devil You Know director James Oakley had nothing but great things to say about the actress. Even at the tender age of 15, the actress was turning heads with her skills in front of the camera.

“She was epic. She was an instant pro. You just wanted to make the whole movie around her,” the filmmaker said of Lawrence’s performance in the film.

Here’s what the movie is all about:

Kathryn Vale is a reclusive ex-movie star with a dark secret and a daughter hoping to follow in her mother’s movie-star footsteps. When Kathryn attempts to make a career comeback, she is threatened by an anonymous blackmailer. The resulting events force Kathryn to confront the truth about herself and those around her.
