Approximately 8 hours ago LeBron James launched his official Twitter account and he already has over 182,000 followers at the time of this post.
The official account @KingJames quickly gained attention when analysts announced James may reveal which team he’ll sign with (he’s currently a free agent) by using the popular micro-blogging website. James’ agent has since shot down rumors that twitter would be used for the official team selection process.
James’ account was verified this morning by Hornets’ point guard Chris Paul.
Putting James’ quick Twitter rise into perspective, it took Bill Gates the same amount of time to reach 100,000 followers.
Will James become one of Twitters biggest stars? If these number continue he could have over a million visitors in just a few short days.
