Most gamers of a certain age fondly recall GoldenEye 007 , the Nintendo 64’s seminal first-person shooter, and Activision will be looking to MERCILESSLY EXPLOIT such nostalgic memories this November with the release of James Bond: GoldenEye , for the Wii and Nintendo DS.
The game was confirmed today as being in development, but the project remains somewhat shrouded in mystery. Is it a direct remake of the 1997 classic or not? Activision isn’t saying, though as original developer Rare isn’t involved, it might just be a new game that will probably sell a few copies on its name alone. Whatever it is , it’s being shown next week at the E3 expo.
I, for one, hope it isn’t a remake of the N64 classic. As much as I loved GoldenEye 007 , its sequel Perfect Dark was released on the Xbox Live Arcade service in March, and has clearly aged badly. I’m thinking GoldenEye in 2010 will feel just as creaky.
