Sarah Palin Returns To Fox News

Less than six months after leaving Fox News, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is reuniting with the network.

Palin will be re-joining the News Corp-owned network as a paid contributor to Fox News’ and Fox Business Network’s daytime and primetime programming. Palin will make her first return appearance on the June 17 edition of Fox Friends — the same day CNN’s morning program, New Day, will make its debut.

“I’ve had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining Fox News as a contributor,” Fox Chairman Roger Ailes said. “I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming. I hope she continues to speak her mind.”

Palin said of her return, “The power of Fox News is unparalleled. The role of Fox News in the important debates in our world is indispensible. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at Fox.”

Palin left Fox News back in January, but the decision for her to leave the network was a mutual one. The network was reportedly paying the former GOP vice presidential candidate $1 million a year for a three-year partnership, and even built a studio inside her Wasilla home. However, Palin’s relationship with the network was rocky at times.

In August 2012, Palin complained on Facebook about Fox News removing her as a talking head for the network’s GOP convention coverage.

“I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight,” she wrote. “Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot.” Palin then went on to say that she looked forward to hearing McCain’s speech and wished him a happy birthday.

Fox said that the network’s plans changed because the RNC schedule had been changed from four nights of speeches to three.
