‘Insidious Chapter 2’ Drops First Trailer [Video]

Insidious Chapter 2 has just dropped a trailer!

The original Insidious was a psychological horror film directed by James Wan, the man behind such memorable horror franchises as Saw and Paranormal Activity. It followed the story of the Lambert family, who discover something evil after Renai (Rose Byrne) and Josh (Patrick Wilson) move into a new house with their three children. Renai is looking through a family album with their son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) when the boy asks where there are no pictures of his dad when he was younger. His mom tells him Josh was always camera shy and didn’t like his picture taken.

One day, Dalton hears something in the attic and goes up to investigate. He attempts to climb a ladder and turn on the light when the ladder cracks and he falls, only to wind up staring at something in the dark that terrifies him. Dalton is told not to play in the attic any more, and he is put in bed. The next day, he doesn’t wake up and is rushed to the hospital. The doctors say he has fallen into a mysterious coma.

Strange things begin happening and the family moves again, only to find out that the supernatural terrors have followed them.

The trailer for Insidious Chapter 2 (below) begins with the family appearing to be happy again. It then says, “It began two years ago.”

Josh announces, “We’re gonna be in grandma’s house for a little bit,” indicating that the Lambert family may be between homes after leaving the house from the first film.

The words on the screen then say, “Their child inherited a gift.”

We see more scenes of the family living normal lives before Josh comforts Renai with the infamous words, “Nothing’s gonna bother us. Not any more. We have our son back. We’re a family again.”

Soon we find Rose noticing things out of place, and once again, something’s wrong. The Lambert family is still not safe from the supernatural world.

Insidious Chapter 2 is due to hit theaters September 13.
