Have you ever wondered what if you went for plastic surgery, but it turned out horribly wrong? Well, for Allison, that actually happened. The 67-year-old woman ended up with a botched facelift after pursuing the “cheapo” route, which ultimately resulted in “complications.”
It reached a point when she had to “keep her eyes open.” Later, she had to get a “boomerang lift” to fix it.
Alison, who has worked as a nurse for years, just wanted to improve her facial appearance, which had begun showing apparent signs of aging. But she ended up with a botched surgery. Speaking with PEOPLE, she said, “I had gotten a facelift and I couldn’t close my eye. I was told that at that point [the doctors I saw] had put Botox in and that was the reason. It took three months.”
She added, ” I had an open eye, so I had to patch it, lubricate it, and it was possible that I couldn’t restore it.” Alison recalled that at that time, she uttered, “I left saying ‘Never again. This is never happening again.'”
She also wanted to fix the botched facelift, so she turned to a trusted plastic surgeon she found through her friend. Dr. Oren Tepper, who has a practice in New York City, agreed to consult with Alison. According to her, “she trusted him immediately.”
“I wanted to look natural,” the 67-year-old lamented that she looked at least twenty years older than her age. So, her goal was to simply look her age, not 20 or 30 years younger.
“I’m not a movie star, I’m not a Kardashian. I have to have wrinkles. I have to look my age. My face had to match my body. I had to look right.”
Dr. Tepper, who attended to her, said that the result from her first facelift “wasn’t quite enough,” so she just needed another surgery. He said, “We did some resurfacing of her skin, so up around the mouth as well as the lower eyelid. And then what we did for her, which I think was the most powerful thing, was the addition of volume. I use her example — she’s such a nice example of the power of restoring volume in the face because she was so deflated. She just had such facial deflation and we see that a lot with significant weight loss, but that was not her issue.”
He added, “She didn’t have any other real underlying reasons to be so deficient in volume other than that was her anatomy. And that really contributed I think to her appearance. I don’t want to say advanced age, but she certainly looked older than she is. And I think the volume for her was the biggest thing we did to help her.”

Her four-hour “boomerang lift” went well, and her recovery was also smooth. According to Alison’s interview, she only had a normal amount of swelling initially, but she quickly got back on her feet. Her family was also there throughout the plastic surgery. When asked if she was overwhelmed with the whole process, she replied, “My husband would love me no matter what. But I did this for me beacause I was sad. No I’ll age gracefully. I’m really satisfied with the whole amazing experience and I look my age.”
