Kelly Rowland Close To Signing Deal With ‘X Factor’

Kelly Rowland is apparently very close to signing a deal with X Factor.

Rumors have been circulating that the singer and Destiny’s Child member was being courted for the singing competition. Although nothing official has been announced, the folks at Entertainment Weekly are reporting that Rowland’s involvement is pretty much a done deal.

The search for a pair of new judges began after both Britney Spears and L.A. Reid decided to bid farewell to The X Factor last season. Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell are both expected to return for another go-around.

As Kelly Rowland works out the finer details of her deal with folks at FOX, producers continue to search for someone to fill the other vacancy. Rumors suggest that singer and actress Paulina Rubio is being considered as a judge. Again, nothing about these reports has been confirmed or denied by FOX or producers as of this writing.

Last month, internet rumors suggested that Client List star Jennifer Love Hewitt was up for one of the positions on The X Factor. According to Us Weekly, Simon Cowell was reportedly interested in getting her to sign on for the show. Reba McEntire was also said to be in the running.

Cowell almost had to fill three vacancies on the competition after last season. Demi Lovato revealed earlier this month that she considered parting ways with the program since it was causing her a fair amount of stress.

“I didn’t want to lose because I’m that girl that’s so competitive with people, and I didn’t want to lose to Simon especially it being my first year on the ‘X Factor.’ Of course, I was out right away. I want to see new talent and I want to be a part of that journey again,” she explained.
