‘Angry Birds Friends’ Hitting Mobile Devices May 2

Angry Birds Friends will soon be back where the series got its start.

On Thursday, May 2 the version of the game that is best known for residing on Facebook will be moving over the the iOS and Android platforms.

Rovio began a series that now seemingly has a ton of offshoot games on Apple’s operating system before eventually moving over to Google’s.

Since the original launch of the game the birds who fly through the air thanks to a catapult have taken off in a way that few could have imagined.

The physic based game series that was rather simple in its design has spawned literally hundreds of different games that are all copycatting the theme in one way or another.

Angry Birds Friends is different from the other games in the series because it brings a social aspect. This multiplayer game will allow users to compete with their friends and family for various achievements.

If the mobile version of this game is anything like the one that was so popular on Facebook we can also expect that there will be weekly tournaments that will be held over the web.

This means that not only will you be able to show your friends who the best pig popper is, you’ll also be able to show complete strangers.

Rovio has been working certain powerups into all of their games but this version has some of the most helpful and most numerous.

Those could be earned or purchased through the game on Facebook and its expected to have the same aspects when it goes live on Thursday.

The game developers have had so much success with this particular line that they have actually started offering the original title for free.

Are you going to be playing Angry Birds Friends on your iPhone, iPad or Android device when it comes out?
