Amazon’s ‘Zombieland’ Pilot Episode Available To Watch For Free

Amazon.com’s pilot for their original horror comedy Zombieland is now available to watch for free. Yesterday there was talk that the pilot might be hitting the net sooner than expected, and today its here.

It should be pointed out that there isn’t a ton of horror comedy out there these days. It should also be pointed out that the timing for this release is probably not a coincidence.

Netflix is due to release their new series, Hemlock Grove, on Friday. It certainly appears that Amazon wanted to make sure to get their new original series out there first.

It should also be pointed out that there is no guarantee that Zombieland is going to be going any further than the pilot. The retail giant turned streaming video entrepreneur has said they are putting together a ton of pilots for release this year.

The company is allowing its viewers to vote on the pilots they like the most, and the winner will get a full series.

This particular approach is quite a bit different from Netflix, who simply throws their weight behind a first season for these new shows and lets them sink or swim on their own.

It’s far too early to tell which approach is the most successful but we do know that House of Cards had enough viewership to merit a second season.

On the other hand, the early reviews for Hemlock Grove have been less than flattering.

If you are a fan of the movie starring Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, then this might be the only way you are going to get your fix.

While those two actors are not anywhere near the pilot for the show, recent reports say that a big screen sequel is not likely in the cards.

With Amazon’s version of Zombieland, you can at least see the characters again and see what scrapes they get into in the pilot.
