‘Skyrim’ Isn’t Getting Any More DLC, Says Bethesda

Skyrim DLC No More, Says Bethesda

Bethesda recently announced that Skyrim isn’t getting any more DLC.

Although many fans were hoping that the company would release at least one more expansion pack for the latest Elder Scrolls title, it would seem that developers are now moving on to the next set of adventures.

Bethesda made the announcement via the company’s official blog on Monday (April 15). Unless something changes down the road, fans already have access to all the DLC they’re going to get.

The company wrote:

“For the last year and a half we’ve been working on new content for ‘Skyrim’; from the game updates, Creation Kit, Steam Workshop, Kinect support, to DLCs. Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.”

The release continued:

“Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to ‘Skyrim’ as needed. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into ‘Skyrim’ and will never truly say goodbye to it.”

Bethesda Says No More Skyrim DLC

Not surprisingly, a number of people have attempted to make contact with the folks at Bethesda regarding the announcement. If the stories popping up on various websites weren’t enough to convince players that Skyrim isn’t getting more DLC, then the official tweet from the company will probably do the trick.

Bethesda recently issued an update for Skyrim that introduced the new legendary difficulty mode. This essentially allows enemies to do a considerable amount of damage while decreasing how much harm players can dish out. The patch also removes the level cap. This should keep fans of the game busy until the next installment of the Elder Scrolls series hits retail shelves.

It’s believed that developers are currently putting together Fallout 4. However, nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.

Have you spent a considerable amount of time with Skyrim? Are you disappointed that Bethesda won’t release any more DLC for the game?
