Acer Liquid e Debuts With Android 2.1, 768MHz Snapdragon Love


The Acer Liquid e has debuted with Google Android 2.1 and an underclocked Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon processor running at 768MHz.

The “e” also features a 3.5? WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, comes packed with 512mb ROM and 256MB RAM, plus a 5MP camera and a decent 1350 mAh Li-Po battery.

The device also features high speed data access via HSPA (3G) and high-definition video playback for videos and gaming, while also offering HTML5 support for a more rich browsing experience compared to other mobile options currently available.

• Home screens – The new version now handles five home screens by default, allowing users to easily install more applications from the rich selection available on the Android Market, as well as shortcuts and widgets;
• Quick Contacts – a feature that lets users easily switch between the address book and the social network applications;
• Live wallpapers to customize your Liquid e on the fly;
• A new keyboard layout with an extended dictionary for predictive input;
• An updated version of the Android browser, supporting HTML5, double-tap zooming, video tagging support and geo-location API support.
