While the PlayStation 3 version of the epic-ish Final Fantasy XIII will ship on a single Blu-ray disc, Square Enix has confirmed the Xbox 360 game will be spread across three discs.
This is, to most people, an absolute non-issue, though is still likely to prompt hoots of derision from a vocal minority of zealous PS3 fanboys, who will contentedly crow that this tiny advantage is somehow significant. It obviously isn’t, as it means players will have to swap discs twice, during a game that supposedly lasts around 50 to 60 hours.
When another Xbox 360 RPG, Blue Dragon, came on four discs, nobody lifted an eyebrow. I suspect things will not run as smoothly considering the hype behind Final Fantasy XIII, with people happy to jump on the tiniest details when it comes to the VERY IMPORTANT BUSINESS of arguing on the Internet about game consoles.
