‘Gossip Girl’ Movie On Hold Unless Blake Lively Signs On [Rumor]

A Gossip Girl movie is on hold unless Blake Lively can be convinced to change her mind about doing the flick, according to online rumors. Lively’s star rose while playing Serena Van Der Woodsen on the hit television series. The show recently finished its final season.

Blake Lively’s Gossip Girl former co-stars are allegedly “infuriated” that the actress does not want to do a movie based upon the television series. A Star insider source claims that Ryan Reynold’s wife is being pressured by her former cast members to sign on to do the movie. Lively supposedly believes that making a Gossip Girl movie is a terrible idea.

During an interview before the series ended, Leighton Meester was asked about a Sex and the City type of movie once Gossip Girl wrapped. Meester, who played lead character Blair Waldorf, said it would be “kind of hot” to reunite the cast for a movie.

Chase Crawford, who played Nate Archibald, was also asked a similar question about the possibility of a Gossip Girl movie. Crawford said, “I don’t know if I want that, or do not want that. I don’t know what the logistics would be on that. I would imagine it’s a long shot.”

Kelly Rutherford played Lily Van Der Woodson, the mother to Blake Lively’s character. She also mentioned the possibility of a Gossip Girl movie. During an impromptu interview while attending the Golden Globes, Rutherford said that she was happy with the way the series ended and hoped that the ending left open the possibility of doing a great movie.

Rutherford also stated that she would definitely be up for a movie and thought it would be a blast to be back together with all of her former co-stars.

Gossip Girl began in 2007 and ran for six seasons. Do you think there should be a Gossip Girl movie?
