‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Screenshots Feature Weaponry, Weather [Photos]
The latest batch of images from Grand Theft Auto V give players a good look at the game’s impressive weather system. There’s also a picture of a minigun for those who love big weapons.
Rockstar Games’ released ten new images for GTA V this morning. Although fans of the series can drool over pictures of a police chase and a very powerful piece of weaponry, it’s the game’s weather system that takes center stage.
The thunderstorm depicted in one of the new images is nothing short of breathtaking. While Grand Theft Auto IV did a great job of making Niko feel drenched when he walked down the street in the middle of a rainstorm, GTA V makes in-game lightning seem downright terrifying.
Since most gamers don’t spend a whole lot of time discussing a game’s weather system, Rockstar’s latest images also showcase some of the activities players can enjoy over the course of the experience. In addition to exploring the depths of the ocean, gamers can partake in a bit of skydiving.
A few shots featuring the franchise’s iconic police chases are also on display. One picture shows off a daring motorcycle pursuit while another features a police helicopter tracking a car with a spotlight in the middle of the night.
Rockstar recently apologized for taking so long in-between Grand Theft Auto V promotional releases. However, the company said the gaps were necessary to keep many of the surprises under wraps until the game’s release.
Rockstar said in a statement:
“As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans’, ‘don’t respect our fans’, ‘hate GTA fans etc’ – precisely the opposite!
Sorry, we can’t provide a timeline as to when you can expect more info or media from GTAV. Right now we’re just bunkered down busy working on the game and aren’t ready to share anything new – please be patient and of course there will be more to see in the months leading up to game release. Thank you.”
