Jon Bon Jovi’s $42 Million Penthouse Goes Up For Sale

Jon Bon Jovi has put his New York Penthouse on the market for $42 million.

Yes, that’s $42,000,000. Almost double what the rocker paid for it in 2007.

According to the NY Daily News, Bon Jovi bought the 7,500 square foot SoHo penthouse for $24,000,000 in June 2007. If Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley sell the place for their asking price, they’ll make nearly $20 million in profit.

So what do you get for $42 million? The duplex penthouse features five bedrooms, floor to ceiling windows, and three roof terrace that features more than 3,000 square feet of outdoor space. The house also includes two kitchens and a 1,100 square foot “Great Room.”

The real estate agency Coocoran describes the apartment, writing: “The journey begins when you step off the elevator into the lower level foyer. Off the foyer is the massive Great Room, which has a wood-burning fireplace, a dining area and a modern chef’s kitchen.”

The Penthouse, which sits at the top of the New Museum’s 158 Mercer St. Building, also has panoramic views of the tourist filled SoHo neighborhood.

A listing for the apartment reads: “This one-of-a-kind apartment is for the discerning buyer who can appreciate fine craftsmanship and all of the modern conveniences. This apartment offers protected, panoramic views looking over all of Soho and beyond.”

It’s unclear why Jon Bon Jovi is selling the apartment (besides the fact that he stands to pocket $18 million) but don’t worry, Bon Jovi isn’t going to be homeless anytime soon. The RealEstalker reports that the singer still has a place in Red Bank, New Jersey as well as a large home in East Hampton, New York, that he purchased for $7.6 million.
