‘Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins’ Comes To 3DS This Month

Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins is coming to the 3DS by the end of March. This game will actually serve as a prequel to Lego City Undercover which has been released for the Wii U.

The Chase Begins won’t have the same kind of open world play that Lego City will have but it could keep 3DS players happy until they can get their hands on the Wii U and the accompanying game.

This game stars Chase McClain as he tools around the city as a rookie cop. Players will get to help the character solve crime and battle criminals while donning a variety of different disguises.

The game is set up so that when you do start to play Lego City Undercover you will understand why the titular character is such a legendary police officer.

Lego games in general have had a ton of success on both the handhelds and the consoles, though they generally tend to be adaptions of people or heroes that are already well known.

Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins and its Wii U counterpart are birds of a different feather because they are actually building up the mythos of their main characters in the game.

TT Games is developing both of these titles and its safe to say that this could be a bit of a test run for more large scale Lego games to get original story lines.

Lego games like the Batman series as well as the Harry Potter series have been known quantities on both the console and handhelds and have done fairly well on both.

The Wii U game is already on the market and the 3DS prequel is expected to be out on March 28th in the United States.
