Padma Lakshmi insists she’s still single despite reports to the contrary.
Although rumors suggested the Top Chef host was dating Vikram Chatwal, she claims these reports are nothing more than lies.
“I’m still single … and searching!” she told People. “Vikram and I are just friends and will remain just friends.”
Padma Lakshmi’s statement arrives shortly after the New York Post suggested she had been vacationing with Dream Hotel owner Vikram Chatwal in India. The publication also stated that Lakshmi and Chatwal attended the Blossom Ball on Monday.
The pair were first spotted at a New York Knicks game in December of last year. Rumors also suggested the two attended a New Year’s Eve party together at Dream Hotel. This fueled rumors that Padma Lakshmi and Vikram Chatwal had started a relationship.
However, it would seem that the Top Chef host has grown tired of the endless reports about her love life. In addition to giving a statement to the folks at People, Lakshmi also addressed the issue on Twitter.
“Pls stop the lies. I’m NOT dating anyone or vacationing with or ‘cozy’ with anyone. Susan S was my only date to Blossom Ball,” she tweeted.
Lakshmi was previously involved with billionaire Theodore Forstmann. Sadly, he passed away from cancer nearly 18 months ago.
When she isn’t battling rumors about her personal life, Padma Lakshmi devotes quite a bit of her time to a number of worthy causes. She is the co-founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America, an organization that’s very close to her heart.
“I didn’t get diagnosed until I was 36 — and that’s abominable, because I have good health insurance and always have, and I had access to the best medical care on both coasts of this country, and I have doctors in my family. And I was still mismanaged,” she said at a recent event in Washington, D.C.
