Supermodel Carol Alt To Host Fox News Channel Show
1980s Supermodel Carol Alt will be hosting a new weekend health and fitness show on the Fox News Channel starting this summer.
Alt’s new show is a departure from FNC’s usual political and business content. In other words, it will be Alt-ernative programming.
Alt, 52, who was on the cover of the Sports Illustrated 1982 swimsuit issue and hundreds of other magazine covers during her heyday in the 80s, is a proponent of raw food and other holistic lifestyle practices.
FNC executive Bill Shine told The Hollywood Reporter that Alt is well qualified to provide the audience with heathy living tips
“Living well is an important topic for discussion. As a renowned supermodel, Carol has embodied a healthy lifestyle for years and will bring both informative and helpful ideas to our viewers.”
Alt,who has overcome several of her own health challenges, was also a contestant on the 2008 edition of The Celebrity Apprentice and has appeared in many movies (primarily in Europe) and other television shows. She has her own skincare line and recently published a cookbook called Easy Sexy Raw. She has been quoted as saying that her passion in life is to teach people about raw foods.
According to the New York Daily News, Alt credits a raw food diet with enabling her to maintain her ageless beauty which at a key point allowed her to extend her modeling career:
“Alt turned to the raw diet two decades ago after a series of weight and health problems.
“The star was in such bad shape, she almost got kicked off the set of a modeling campaign.”
On her blog, Carol Alt claims that the raw food diet allows her to nurture her health and stay in shape without exercising but that she works out when her schedule permits.
Will you tuning in to Carol Alt’s talk show on the Fox News Channel? Would you ever consider adopting the raw food diet into your own lifestyle?
