LA NFL Stadium sets it’s sights on Jaguars, Bills

Majestic Realty Company, the company behind the new NFL stadium being built in the City of Industry, California (a city 25 miles east of Los Angeles) has set it sights on the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills as the two teams it will attempt to lure to the new stadium. This new project seems convinced that it has an attractive enough facility to lure two teams to play in it. While it seems a little weir that the Oakland Raiders aren’t among the top team being contacted about the new facilities, even though they are one of several teams being considered.

The project is also thinking about the San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, and the St Louis Rams. If we were too rank these teams from most likely to relocate to less likely it would look something like this:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars
2. Oakland Raiders
3. St. Louis Rams
4. San Diego Chargers
5. Minnesota Vikings
6. San Francisco 49ers
7. Buffalo Bills

The facts here are as long as Ralph Wilson is alive, and owner of the Bills that team is going nowhere. Since the Rams are for sale, and have history in California it is reasonable to think they would go back. The Vikings, Chargers, and Raiders could all use new stadiums, but the Vikings now have their own facility in the Metrodome. There doesn’t seem to be credible evidence that the Niners would move from San Francisco, but they are having a hard time getting a new stadium project off the ground there.

The Jaguars are probably already in the motions of relocating. They do not have a long history in Jacksonville, the NFL market there is tapped out, and the economy in Florida is terrible.
