Scarlett Johansson Forms All-Girl Band

Scarlett Johansson has decided to form an all-girl band. Now before this bit of news sounds random, let’s go over the facts. Scarlett has been singing for quite some time now in addition to being a sought out actress.

Johansson’s singing chops were first heard to many when she released a cover of Jeff Buckley’s “Last Goodbye” back in 2009. Before that she released a studio album in 2008 titled “Anywhere I Lay My Head.”

Recently Johansson was nominated for an Oscar alongside Adele for Best Original Song. Although ultimately lost to Adele’s “Skyfall”, the actress got so show a few seconds of her vocal talent when her song “Chasing Ice” from the film Before My Time was announced.

So it doesn’t come as a real shock that Scarlett would continue to pursue a singing career, or at least dabble in it. Johansson revealed to Live! With Kelly and Michael that she has an all-girl band:

“I have an all-girls band, and we’re called The One And Only Singles, and we’re doing our Go-Go’s thing.”

The girl band, which she describes as a “super force” is lead by Scarlett. In addition to her band, the actress turned singer commented on her Oscar nomination for her vocal talent:

“That was very surprising to me. It’s just a beautiful documentary called Chasing Ice, and my friend did all the music for us. He called me up and did a song. It was a beautiful song that he wrote. I never could have imagined that we would have been nominated for an Oscar.”

Currently Scarlett Johansson can be seen on Broadway in “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof”.
